Family Photos

These are photos from my Dad's (Chester "Chet" Janicki) side of the family.

His parents were John Janicki (my grandfather) and Sohpie Przeslowska (my grandmother). He had 1 brother - Walter "Uncle Wally", and 2 sisters - Cecelia "Aunt Ceil" and Stephanie "Aunt Steph".

Janicki Album 01

This selection is a first batch from one of my Dad's old photo albums. It contained photos of the Janicki familyfrom when they lived in Chicago, and, later in New Buffalo, Michigan. The photos were taken from the 1910's to late 1930's or early 1940's.

Relatives

This is a another batch of photos from my Dad's album. It includes photos of a brother, niece, and nephew of my Grandfather John Janicki and a brother of my Grandmother Sophie.

1st Holy Communion

Here are First Holy Communion photos for 3 members of the Janicki family - Chet, Wally, and Stephanie. Notice the candle prominently displayed in each photo.

Dad in Uniform with my Mom and his parents

Here is another great set of photographs from one of my parents albums. They show my Dad when he was in uniform (between 1942-1945) with my Mom and his parents. The photos were taken in the backyard of a house - not sure where. I particularly like that these photos are candid and unposed; for example, where my Mom is helping to arrange Sophie Janicki's (her Mother-in-law's) hair. They tell a little story of the family getting ready to go someplace - maybe for a special occasion?
