Letters from My Sister Peggy
Overview
My sister Peggy served as a Maryknoll missionary in Latin America from the early 70' thru the late 80's. Before that, she received schooling and training at various Maryknoll facilities in the United States.
All during this time Peggy wrote to me and our parents. In these letters she describes her path to become a Maryknoll missionary, and the life she lived. Her travels took her from Bolivia and Peru in South America, to Guatemala in Central America, and finally, to Mexico, where she lived and helped people in refugee camps.
Read these lettters to better understand the life of a religious missionary.
Peggy wrote the letters while living in different places, both here in the States and overseas. I have grouped the letters based on where and when she lived at the time.
Valley Park, Missouri (1965-1967)
Chinatown, Chicago (Summer 1967)
