" ...So much has happened this summer and a lot of things just can’t be put down on paper"...
... Gee, it doesn’t seem possible that the summer is almost over....
...So much has happened this summer and a lot of things just can’t be put down on paper. The relationships you develop with the Sisters and the people you work with are very much of the learning experience. We are very lucky to be living with Sisters who are older, middle-aged, and younger. That way we get quite a picture of how the different age levels really have a definite way of looking at changes in Maryknoll and in the world. It is a good preparation for the Motherhouse.
Sr. Rita Anne came to visit us for a day last week. In between classes and crafts, I had a chance to have a nice talk with her. It was good to see her and to hear about our Sisters in St. Louis and Kansas City.
Srs. Anne Colette and Georgianna made a Cursio this past week-end but I haven’t had a chance to see them yet. I will be driving up to Delavin, Wis. this Saturday with one of them so we will have a chance to visit and find out what the other half is doing. Our work and our living conditions or living atmosphere is so vastly different.
I’m having some problems with my reading class, mainly because I didn’t set up a strict discipline for them. It is hard to take over a class for two weeks, but the learning experience is invaluable. If nothing else, it shows me how much I really need school to learn how to do the right thing. Both kinds of experiences are necessary to be well-rounded and to be the most effective.
One of the most beautiful things about community is to see how Sisters can truly be themselves, can be accepted for what they are, can share with each other to help each other to grow, and to have a real Christian Community....
