Sophie Przeslowska

Sophie (nee Przeslowska) Janicki was my grandmother, my Dad's mother. She was born on 25 November 1894, in Zmysłówka, Łańcut County, Podkarpackie, Poland. (note: in 1894, Poland was partitioned between Russia, Prussia, and Austria. see map.) She was the daughter of John Przeslowski and Katherine Crech. In 1943, she requested Naturalization as a U.S. citizen.

In 1961 my grandmother, Sophie Janicki, traveled to Poland to visit her relatives that were still living there. She sent back a couple of postcards to my Aunt Steph, who was living back in Michigan.

She died on 19 September 1979, in Berrien, Michigan, United States, at the age of 84.
